In an effort to meet the ever changing needs of our customers, State Electric Supply Company created the Automation Products Group in 1991. Comprised of an engineering and support staff, their primary role is to provide technical support to customers utilizing products associated with industrial process automation.
Meeting customer expectations in the rapidly changing automation products field is no easy task. The industrial automation field is driven by technology, both hardware and software. A rough estimate within the industry is that complexity and processing power of automation products increases by a factor of 10 every three years. Customers expect more from State Electric than other suppliers. Meeting this time honored traditional level of service and support in such a dynamic field is the goal of the Automation Products Group.
To meet this goal, a state of the art training facility in Huntington is utilized extensively to provide up to date training on automation products. Operational equipment is available for training and customer demonstration and evaluation. A fully equipped laboratory is used to test and evaluate new products (both hardware and software) to ensure that operating characteristics are well understood. Premature obsolescence can be a major problem for automation products. State Electric carefully screens its suppliers to ensure continued support throughout the application lifetime of our products.
In addition to providing technical assistance to our customers, the Automation Products Group also provides a wide variety of Value Added Services. To minimize cost and risk they work closely with local Systems Integrators and Contractors in generating requirements and specifying appropriate equipment for projects. They provide coordination with manufacturers during the procurement phase to ensure that equipment arrives on time and operates as planned.
